Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke & The Bookish Blog.

Today’s topic: All About Books You Read Because of Recommendation — Ten Books I’ve read because of a recommendation from someone else.

Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah.  A woman I used to take the train with recommended this book to me and I loved it.  A must read.

Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley.  Honestly, I read this because so many of my goodreads friends had read this.  Turned out being one of my favorite books of all time.  And a great series.

The Help by Kathryn Stockett.  Another book I read because of how many of my goodreads friends read – and this is outside my normal genre.  I loved this book – a must read.

Deal Breaker by Harlen Coben.  My friend Deb recommended this series to me and I LOVED it.  I wish Mr. Coben was still writing it.

The Rule of Four by Ian Caldwell.  My mom recommended this book to me and I loved it.  I’m still surprised by how many negative goodreads reviews there are, but to me, this book was great.

When the Bough Breaks by Jonathan Kellerman.  My parents both read this and told me I should read it and I did, and read about 18 of the series before I lost interest.

The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz.  My friend Deb recommended this book as well; she only read the first book and I read the whole series.  It’s a different kind of writing, but funny.

Heartsick by Chelsea Cain.  Another recommendation from Deb.  I loved this series.  Chelsea Cain is one sick chick, but I mean that in a good way.

One for the Money by Janet Evanovich.  My mother in law recommended this book to me, and series, and I loved it up until the last few, when I gave up.

The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown.  This is another book I read because so many people were reading it.  I loved it.  But I liked Angels & Demons better.

What have you read because of recommendations?

Happy reading.
