Man Crush Monday #23

This is my 23rd installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

I’m changing it up a little – since it’s October and Halloween is coming up, I’m going to highlight men from the fantasy books I used to read.  Maybe you fantasy readers will appreciate this – and maybe someday I will get back into fantasy….

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Eric Northman from Dead Until Dark by Charleine Harris.

Summary from goodreads.comSookie Stackhouse is a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Louisiana.  She’s quiet, keeps to herself, and doesn’t get out much.  Not because she’s not pretty.  She is.  It’s just that, well, Sookie has this sort of “disability.” She can read minds.  And that doesn’t make her too dateable.  And then along comes Bill. dead-after-darkHe’s tall, dark, handsome–and Sookie can’t hear a word he’s thinking.  He’s exactly the type of guy she’s been waiting for all her life….

But Bill has a disability of his own: He’s a vampire with a bad reputation. He hangs with a seriously creepy crowd, all suspected of–big surprise–murder. And when one of Sookie’s coworkers is killed, she fears she’s next….

While Eric isn’t Sookie’s main interest for most of the series, he’s my favorite vampire.  He is a leader within the vampire community, and he really watches out for Sookie, saving her many times over the course of the series.  In the TV series, he is played by the stunningly gorgeous Alexander Skarsgaard.  I really enjoyed this series and think if you like vampires/were/fae/fairy type books, you’ll love this series (you’re welcome ladies).
