Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme sponsored by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is books we’d love to see as Movies/TV shows. I breezed through the first eight, but really struggled with numbers 9 and 10. Here we go (in no particular order).
1. Heartsick Series by Chelsea Cain (TV series)
I believe at one point there was talk of FX picking this up and making into a series, which would be incredible! Cain’s story of a female serial killer and the cop she tortures would make for great TV. It would have to be on late at night because it would be gory and violent though.
2. Making Faces by Amy Harmon (Movie)
Making Faces was one of the best books EVER, and would make a fantastic movie. A story of a former hunk turned “disfigured” (not really) recluse and the wiry, plain jane who catches his eye would make for a great film.
3. Cotton Malone series by Steve Berry (TV series)
The Cotton Malone series would make for a great summer type series on a network like TBS. Berry gives us a great hero (Malone) and fixes in interesting history. Would love to see this happen.
4. Joe Pike/Elvis Cole series by Robert Crais (TV series)
Joe and Elvis are bad-ass private investigators in Los Angeles. That alone makes for good television, and the fact that there are 15 ish books would make for a good series.
5. Myron Bolitar series by Harlen Coben (TV series)
I miss Myron Bolitar. Myron is a former basketball player who does some sleuthing with the help of his billionaire best friend Win (best book sidekick ever). Would be a fun, lighthearted type series.
6. Rock Chick Series by Kristen Ashley (TV – miniseries or short summer show)
Anyone who has read this series will understand why it is here and it needs to introduction. Great characters with Denver as a backdrop.
7. Defending Jacob by William Landay (Movie)
Defending Jacob was a book about a father trying to vindicate his son on a murder charge and had such a surprise ending that would be perfect for the big screen.
8. Nine Minutes by Beth Flynn (TV movie)
This book was phenomenal and would make a great movie. Kidnapped girl falls in love with kidnapper and leads to his demise. End of this book was jaw-dropping and would make for a great movie (likely TV movie).
9. Body Movers series by Stephanie Bond (TV – summer show)
Great characters, love triangles and moving dead bodies would make for a fun summer show.
10. Heller by JD Nixon (Movie)
Heller would be a funny movie (probably on TV). Heller is a great character, Tillie is hilarious and the sidekicks and antics would make for a fun few hours.
What are your picks?
