Book Review – Lick by Kylie Scott (Stage Dive #1)

Evelyn Thomas’s plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man in her room, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

In Kyle Scott’s Lick, one thing is certain: being married to one of the hottest rock stars on the planet is sure to be a wild ride.

4 out of 5 stars

This book has been on my kindle for a long time.  I am not sure why I never read it, but I’m glad I did.

This book had some issues.  The writing was a bit amatuerish, and at one point or another both Evelyn and David annoyed me.  They were young and pretty immature.  But at the same time, they were both very likable.

David is the guitar player in the band Stage Dive, which is one of the most popular bands in the world.  Evelyn turns 21 in Vegas and wakes up with a massive hangover and a massive ring on her finger.  She doesn’t remember what happened the night before, which infuriates her husband.  Why?  David has major trust issues.  He has an asshole brother who is also in his band.  His band mate Mal was awesome and I am very excited the next book is about him.

The writing in this book wasn’t awesome, and the pace wasn’t great either, but the characters made this book really good and I will continue to read the series.
