Make Me Yours by Kendall Ryan (Unravel Me #2)

Book description from goodreads.com

Emotionally crippled Liz isn’t looking for a relationship when she meets delish boy-next-door, Cohen. He’s a few years younger, a volunteer firefighter, oh…and a virgin, making him totally off limits. But never one to back away from a challenge, she’s drawn to him even while she continues to satisfy her physical needs elsewhere.

Even as she spends her evenings in another man’s arms, she somehow finds herself curled up in Cohen’s bed each night. It’s been a long time since she had a true honest-to-goodness make out session, but Cohen’s showing her just how much fun not having sex can be.
When Cohen’s injured, her real feelings for him rise to the surface, and she has to decide if she’s willing to take a risk on love after enduring so much heartbreak in her past.

My rating:

3.5 stars

My review:

Make Me Yours is the second book in the Unravel Me series, and focuses on Liz, Ashlyn’s best friend.  Liz is a party girl, who likes to have fun and no strings attached sex.  She is not looking for a relationship – until she meets Cohen.  Cohen is her upstairs neighbor and over time, they grow quite a close bond.

I didn’t love this story as much as the first – probably because the first book had such an interesting concept but it was a good story nonetheless.  It ws just a little more cookie cutter and unoriginal than the last book.  Liz was a “hard” person; she had some trauma in her life that nobody knew about – that she had to deal with.

I did not really like Cohen’s family, especially his mother.  She was way to overbearing over an adult man.  His sister was cute and I liked his dog, Bob.  This was a cute story, just not as original as the first.

My recommendation:

Read it, but read Unravel Me first.
