Book Review – Own the Wind (Chaos #1)

Tabitha Allen grew up in the thick of Chaos–the Chaos Motorcycle Club, that is. Her father is Chaos’ leader, and the club has always had her back. But one rider was different from the start. When Tabby was running wild, Shy Cage was there. When tragedy tore her life apart, he helped her piece it back together. And now, Tabby’s thinking about much more than friendship…

Tabby is everything Shy’s ever wanted, but everything he thinks he can’t have. She’s beautiful, smart, and as his friend’s daughter, untouchable. Shy never expected more than friendship, so when Tabby indicates she wants more–much more–he feels like the luckiest man alive. But even lucky men can crash and burn…

4 out of 5 stars

Own the Wind is the first book in the Chaos series, and a continuation of the Dream Man series.  This book follows Tabitha Allen, Tack Allen (Dream Man Book 4).  This book takes place over about 5 years (which is actually kind of annoying) and follows Tabby as she kind of grows up.

Tabby, at age 19, gets into trouble and calls Parker “Shy” Cage to come and rescues her.  Shy makes assumptions about Tabby and her lifestyle based on the people she is with.  Shy says some very, very mean things to her, but they help in changing her.  Tabby “freezes” shy out, and he has to work very hard to win back her trust.

In the meantime, Tabby meets a man and gets engaged.  Her fiance ends up dying.  She and Shy end up together in another situation again, but this time, they become friends.  Friends lead to more.

While I really liked the Dream Man series, this book wasn’t as great.  It was a good book, a good read.  The relationship between Shy and Tabby developed nicely and they became very likable characters.  The reaction to their relationship at Chaos was not well received, and I honestly hated that part of the story.  It worked out nicely in the end though.  Also, Lee from the Rock Chick series was in here.  I love when KA brings the Hot Bunch into her stories.

Overall, this was a good book, and I will read the second one.

Happy reading.
