Book description from goodreads.com
The one woman he couldn’t have was the only woman he desired…

She may be aloof, and more pretty than gorgeous, but Alani Rivers is the kind of woman a hot-blooded mercenary can’t forget, no matter how hard he tries. So when Jackson Savor wakes up next to the naked, sleeping beauty—with no memory of what happened—he knows he’s been drugged… even if Alani doesn’t.

After she was kidnapped, Alani swore she’d never trust another man again. Still, something about this strong, sexy hero with the tender touch makes her want to believe him. As Jackson hunts downs a mysterious intruder, he swears he’ll move heaven and earth to keep Alani safe. But what really happened that night? And will the truth bring them closer than they ever thought possible—or put Alani squarely in harm’s way again?

My Review:

This was one of my favorite books in this series, mainly because I thought I had it figured it out and it threw me a curve!  Alani Rivers was kidnapped by human traffickers and rescued in book 1 of this series, and is dealing with some emotional scars.  Her brother, Trace Rivers, is overly protective of her.  Jackson has been pursuing Alani on a professional level (she’s an interior designer) but he is really doing it to get to know her better.

These books are well written and quite suspenseful.  Romantic suspense is my favorite genre, and this book lived up to his hype.  I like the the characters for the previous books are in the stories, but not really main characters.  Ms. Foster lets the characters of the book grow as their own.  I think that both Jackson and Alani matured during the course of this book.

I also love how much Ms. Foster seems to love animals and her use of them in her stories.

Highly recommend this series.
